Just dump Avast and install Eset and your issue will be resolved. from any rootkit that reported false positive. I suspect whatever Avast is detecting is being repopulated in the cache from one of those extensions.

I would also take a close look at whatever extensions you have installed. The reason I dont think this is an false positive is because the virustotal detections arent generic detections, they specifically call it an rootkit, though like any pirated/cracked/torrented software, it may be because of obfuscation, which antiviruses get easily triggered by. The false positive detection also seems to trigger for a another sibling tool as well, so it is probably save to say all or most of my software is affected by this problem. This will ensure the cache is always cleared at browser shutdown. My experience with FireFox has been that the only way to ensure its cache is always cleared is to run in permanent private mode.
